To develop better citizens and communities of tomorrow.
My name is Dan Brenneman, and I believe in being the driver of your future. I believe there is a lack of self-reliance spreading across our nation. For many, complacency and dependency on others have grown out of control. This is why I have set out to make a change. I want to spread the knowledge and wisdom gained from my life experiences as a Man, Marine, Husband, Father, and Son.
Self-reliance is based on the basic principles of being a Jack of All Trades. It stems from starting at the basics. I am willing to help anyone who is willing to make a positive change in their life, old or young.
I am not the end-all-be-all, but I have learned that any information can be constructive.
Learn to be a practical navigator and hiker. We will start by guiding you in the gear selection process and showing you how to properly wear or pack that gear. This is essential to having an enjoyable time outdoors and ensuring your safety and effectiveness. Then we dive into route selection. This will give you insights into gauging trail difficulty, timing, and determining locations of interest. You will also be taught how to complete a basic risk assessment. This allows you to identify possible risks before the hike, which helps you to formulate a plan to mitigate these risks. Finally, we will conduct short to medium-length inventory hikes. The purpose of these hikes is to identify issues with your gear and to gauge your abilities. You will then have the tools to set out on your own.
This period of instruction includes classroom time and practical application. In the classroom, you will learn how to read a map, plot points on a map using a mapping protractor, select a route on a map, and use a compass in conjunction with a map. The practical application portion will be held outdoors at a local hiking trail. Before the start of the event, there will be another quick instruction on pace counts and how to use them. After that, you will apply all these skills and navigate the short route that you planned.
Learn basic skills to make yourself more aware of your surroundings and less of a target. These skills will introduce to you how to read a room, a situation, or a person allowing you to be active in your safety and not reactive to an attack. This will also introduce you to the concept of being a hard target. What actions can you take to make yourself less of an easy target or what you can do to mitigate the possibility of being targeted altogether.
As a team, we work to identify what you can do to better secure your homestead, from identifying possible blind spots in existing security measures to establishing new ones. The goal is delay or denial. Establish practices that delay an intruder long enough for you to react or to develop physical barriers that deny the intruders access. Simple measures like leaving lights on, flipping your blinds around, or installing motion lights can affect your ability to secure your homestead. Let's work together to see what works for you.
This is a vast subject bound only by your imagination. Build a bug-out bag or stockpile food. The journey is yours, I'm there to ask the right questions and show you what I do.
Please reach us at geo.dbsolution@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
This is determined based on our conversation and the service. Sometimes in the comfort of your home, sometimes in a classroom setting, and sometimes outdoors. Its up to us to decide together.
It is my goal to never go more than 2-3 weeks without seeing each of you.
This is based upon the participants wants and the type of service. Hiking, for example, is normally a group function. Homestead Defense is individual.
Willing to listen to all questions and ideas!
